Democracy Prep Public Schools is a network of 14 high performing public charter schools. One thing that sets Democracy Prep apart from other high performing charter networks is Korean Language & Culture Program. When Democracy Prep was founded, Korean educational values were injected into the DNA of the schools. 


At the end of each school year in May, Democracy Prep Public Schools hosts a celebration of Korean culture both for celebrating the Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month and for growing network of students, teachers and schools. 

FESTIVAL COMPONENTS include:

STUDENT PERFORMANCES
K-Pop Dance troupe, Taekwondo, Arirang Choir, Mask Dance troupe, Danso, Samulnori, traditional Korean dance

KOREAN CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
Calligraphy, traditional Korean games, face painting, Korean language lessons, lantern making, hanbok dress up

KOREAN FOOD
Bibimbag, kimchi, scallion pancakes, rice cakes, japchae
