The National Tae Kwon Do Education Foundation, founded in 2007, integrated Tae Kwon Do into public schools in the US, showcasing Korean culture and history.

Tae Kwon Do aims to create a world without war, pain, or sadness, elevating peace for humanity through education.

The foundation promotes Korea's excellence globally, fostering international understanding and friendship through Tae Kwon Do.

For the 100th anniversary of Korea-US diplomatic relations, they plan an event in Times Square to celebrate the globalization of Tae Kwon Do and its inclusion in American education.

The event features collaboration between Tae Kwon Do practitioners and K-pop artists, promoting Korea to the world.

Special Webcomics Series with Artists Dami Lee and Mary Park (Murrz)

The Korean Cultural Center New York (KCCNY) is excited to announce the launch of a new webcomics series, “KCCNY Originals.” The first two series will feature two influential Korean-American webtoon artists, Dami Lee and Mary Park (Murrz).

Both Dami and Murrz will draw inspiration from cultural events based in New York and the US, while also exploring various facets of Korean culture like K-Pop and Korean food, etiquette culture, and language!

The series will be accessible on KCCNY social media platforms and each artists’ platforms from July 2023.

2023 K-New Leaders: Fashion Designer Andrew Kwon

The Korean Cultural Center New York is pleased to announce “2023 K-New Leaders: Fashion Designer Andrew Kwon” releasing an interview video through our YouTube channel.

In celebration of the Asian-American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, KCCNY launched its partnership with an emerging Korean American artist Andrew Kwon, who has garnered significant recognition from the New York fashion industry.

This collaboration highlights the story behind his collections and provides a rare chance for audiences to engage with the designer himself and his beautiful dresses firsthand. The interview illuminates his design philosophy, inspiration, and individuality with diverse images of his life and runway show during 2023 New York Fashion Week.
