Hae-sung Song, Drama, 116 minutes

Director Hae-sung Song’s beautiful and unbelievably moving picture, Failan, tells a tragic story between a pure hearted girl, Failan (Cecilia Cheung from The Promise) and Kang-jae (Min-sik Choi from Old boy), who is a gangster. Both actors incredibly portrayed their characters, and the story delivers the true meaning of love and life.

This film is the story of Kang-jae, who is a seedy gangster and has no concern for others. After losing both of her parents, Failan decides to leave China to start a new life in Korea. Desperate to stay in Korea, Failan is forced to have an arranged marriage through a match-making agency. Because of his financial situation, Kang-jae also decides to take on the arranged marriage. The greatest achievement of this movie lies in portraying the love story between Failan and Kang-jae who never meets each other.
