Synopsis: Hyun-shik happens to meet Jee-yeon on the subway. The film begins with the story she tells him. Jee-yeon claims that their world is an artificial reality, like the set of The Truman Show. She explains that strange phenomena known as “errors” occasionally occur. When an “error” happens, the people in this world repeat whatever they were doing before gradually coming to a stop. Only a Truman remains unaffected by the “error” and can move freely. Saying that she is searching for another Truman besides herself, Jee-yeon asks Hyun-shik an enigmatic question:
“Are you a Truman?”
Director’s Note: This film is divided into three chapters — The Beginning of Love, The Love Triangle, and After the Breakup — with a different protagonist guiding the perspective in each. Each of the three characters identifies as a “Truman,” a unique individual living in a broken, artificial world. What runs through their stories is a simple truth: all you need is just one person you can rely on. The world, the truth — those grand concepts may seem important, but life, paradoxically, can sometimes be redeemed by a single, sincere connection. The film gently asks: isn't that ironic?

◆ KIM DUKJOONG studied at the Graduate School of Cinematic Content at Dankook University. His first feature film, THE EDUCATION (2019), was selected for the New Currents section at the 2019 Busan International Film Festival and received the Jury Award at the 2021 Busan Film Critics Association Awards. His second feature, THE CONVERSATION (2021), and his third, THE LOVE OF TRUMAN (2026), were both selected for the Vision category at the Busan International Film Festival. He has also produced OUR MIDNIGHT(2020) and the documentary K-Number(2024), actively working across both directing and producing.
