The New York Korean Creative Music Association is proud to announce the 4th NY Korean New Art Song Festival, scheduled to take place on October 9, 2026 (Hangul Day). Subtitled "Beyond the Landscape," this innovative musical performance aims to accelerate the global expansion of K-Culture through original art songs deeply rooted in Korean sentiment. The event is hosted by the New York Korean Creative Music Association and organized by JH Arts Corporation.
The festival will introduce groundbreaking collaborative works that bridge literature and music. Through a dedicated competition, 10 original Korean poems were selected to be set to music by leading Korean-American composers. These brand-new compositions will be brought to life by a lineup of exceptional vocalists and pianists, providing a high-profile platform to showcase the excellence of Korean cultural arts on the world stage.
By bringing together prominent Korean composers, writers, and vocalists residing in the United States alongside international artists, this global initiative explores new possibilities for the art song genre and serves as a vital milestone for the globalization of Korean music.
In addition to the main festival, a special follow-up event will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the Fort Lee Music Hall in Fort Lee, New Jersey. This event will feature performances of both traditional and newly synthesized Korean art songs, followed by a symposium dedicated to discussing the future and strategic direction of the genre.
