K-Pop Dance Night with DJ CHEN featuring KNESIS and KBS DANCE TEAM

K-pop music has already influenced every kind of contemporary sound, from the Billboard charts to the Broadway stage. K-Pop's unstoppable beats and powerful melodies take over Lincoln Center for a dance party series designed for all fans of the genre. 

The evening begins with a short movement tutorial and a dazzling showcase presentation, so bring a friend or meet a new one on the dance floor and prepare to live out all your K-Pop dreams! 

For this celebration of Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month show, DJ CHEN will curate a set of songs performed by Korea's amazing groups with members from various AAPI backgrounds including NCT, SEVENTEEN, and Stray Kids.

Iconic K-Pop cover groups led by students from New York University (KNESIS) and Stony Brook University (KBS Dance Team) will showcase amazing performances followed up by a step-by-step choreography session. Get ready to dance the night away!

New Jersey-based DJ CHEN is an Open-Format Club and Mobile DJ with over eight years of experience playing at different venues throughout New Jersey, New York City, Philadelphia, and Baltimore.

He has performed at venues including Pennsylvania Convention Center (HiJinx Festival 2022), Pimlico Race Course (Moonrise Festival 2019), Mission Nightclub NYC, Great Hall at Avant Gardner, Kings Hall at Avant Gardner, Loft 51 NYC, The Fillmore Philadelphia, The Ave Live, NOTO Philadelphia, Theatre of Living Arts, Concourse Dance Bar, The Foundry at The Fillmore Philadelphia, Tango Philadelphia, West & Down, Infusion Lounge Philadelphia, Golden Rail Pub, and Oxygen Baltimore.

KNESIS (pronounced “K-neesis”) is the original and only K-pop cover dance team at New York University. They teach free K-pop classes every week which are open to all levels of dancers, and regularly post dance covers on Youtube where they garner thousands of views. 

KNESIS is comprised of members of a diverse set of backgrounds but are united by their love for K-pop, and hope to spread their love for it and the culture!

KBS Dance Team is a performance group based in Stony Brook University with a focus on K-pop music and dance. They aim to bring K-pop fans together through their on and off campus performances and spread awareness of K-pop music and culture to New York and the East Coast dance communities. Not only do they perform dance covers of K-pop songs, they also compose original choreographies as well. KBS Dance Team hopes everyone can enjoy their performances and get to appreciate K-pop music and dance even more with them!

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is also not required; however, we encourage everyone to complete their primary vaccination series and get boosted if eligible before attending. K-Pop Dance Night is co-presented by the Korean Cultural Center New York and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the ROK-U.S. Alliance.
