2016 K-Pop World Festival: New York Preliminary Video Contest

Do you have what it takes to be the next K-pop star? Are you ready to sing and dance your way to the FINALS in Korea?
The Korean Cultural Center New York is excited to announce the 2016 K-Pop World Festival New York Preliminaries, an online competition to select the TWO performances that will represent New York in the live US National Competition in LA!
The 1st place winner of the New York Preliminaries will get a chance to compete in the 2016 US Preliminaries to be held on July 30, 2016 in LA at KCON! The winner of the US Preliminary is guaranteed a place in the final competition in the K-Pop World Festival in Korea this September.
To participate in the New York Preliminaries, applicants must fill out an online form along with a video link that showcases their vocal and/or dance skills. Vocalists must sing a K-pop song, and performers must showcase a K-pop piece.
Selected winners will be invited to perform at the U.S. National Competition Los Angeles on July 30th for a chance to go Korea and represent the US at the K-Pop World Festival this September.
Entry Categories
As in the previous years, the winners will be selected from two categories: Vocal and Performance. (There will be one 1st place winner for Vocals, and one 1st place winner for Performances.)
Eligibility and How to Enter
The contest is open to residents and citizens of the United States. The deadline for submissions is July 10, 2016.
Entries or works submitted to multiple regional competitions within the US in Washington DC and LA may be disqualified.
Applicants must be able to travel to LA for the US National Competition on July 30, 2016.

Evaluation of Entries
Evaluation of entries will be based on scores awarded by a panel of expert judges. Judges will be experts in the performing arts fields of Korean culture.
Prizes
The winners will be selected from the New York regional competition, and receive prizes as follows:
First Place (1 person or 1 team in each of the two categories: Performance, Vocal):
Eligibility and transportation support (travel and accommodation fees) to perform at the U.S. National Competition in Los Angeles + first place gift package!
Awards Announcement
KCCNY will accept and review video entries and announce the results in early July individually to the winners, and also via the Korean Cultural Center webpage and Facebook channels.
