YWCA of Queens will be hosting The 2nd Korean music concert and painting exhibition open to the public at the season of Lunar New Year. The 10 musicians have been preparing for a long time and have created a fantastic performance that includes traditional Korean “Sori” vocalism and the “Jangu,” a Korean drum. These musicians are proud to celebrate Korean heritage by celebrating the harmonies of its music and would love to share it with you.
At this event, the artistic works of the YWCA of Queens Traditional Korean Painting class will be displayed for the public to view. These four painters have been practicing and preparing their works since 2009. All paintings are composed with ink and capture the elegance of the orchid, chrysanthemum, plum blossom and persimmon. 17 pieces will be on exhibit for the public to enjoy.
This event is open to the public and is a great opportunity for families to celebrate and learn about traditional Korean art.
