Korean Culture Celebrated in PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games Medals

The medals to be awarded at next year’s PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games have been unveiled to the public on September 20th, 2017 in New York and  simultaneously at an event in Seoul, Korea.

An evening titled, “PyeongChang 2018 at the Met: Celebrating the Olympic Winter Games for Peace” was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. With the attendance of President Moon Jae-in of the Republic of Korea, he gave an address to the audience before the medals were unveiled on stage. 

Olympic Games ambassador and renowned Korean opera singer Jo Sumi performed three songs as a closing for the evening.
