PASSION. CONNECTED. 100 X 100.

November 1, 2017  to January 31, 2018

Opening Reception: Tuesday, November 14th, 2017, 6-8pm

Gallery Korea of the Korean Cultural Center New York is pleased to present a one-of-a-kind exhibition, PASSION. CONNECTED. 100 X 100. This exhibition showcases ONE HUNDRED winter sport helmets that were artistically designed by ONE HUNDRED selected artists and designers to celebrate D-100 days until the start of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games.

Each of the one hundred participating artists created their very own unique winter sport helmet inspired by the officially designated Olympic keywords: harmony, people, passion, friendship, possibility, fairness, peace, advancement, movement, play, power, balance, joy, drama, challenge, and sports.

In addition to the 100 winter sport helmet artworks, the exhibition presents special works by D2 (Korean American Fashion Association) fashion designers. The show features 10 works inspired by the Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games keywords by six fashion designers from the D2 association.

The title of this exhibition, PASSION.CONNECTED. 100 X 100., includes the official slogan of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games, “Passion. Connected.” as it “refers to a world in which everyone is connected with shared passion for winter sports — a world open to any generation anywhere and anytime, in order to open new horizons in the continued growth of winter sports” (from the PyeongChang 2018 official website).
