PYEONGCHANG 2018 WINTER

On July 6th, 2011, at the 123rd International Olympic Committee (IOC) Session in Durban, South Africa, "PyeongChang, Korea" was announced as the host city of the 23rd Olympic Winter Games and the 12th Paralympic Winter Games.
Up to 670 athletes, a 24% increase from the number of athletes at Sochi 2014, will compete in PyeongChang. This number also includes a 44% increase of female athletes. They will compete in 80 medal events across six sports: alpine skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, ice hockey, snowboard, and wheelchair curling.
In promotion of the Games in 2018, the KCCNY has held cultural events for the community that range from exhibitions, film screenings, culinary events, and performances in 2017 and 2018.
