What comes to mind when you think of Korea?

The national flag of Korea is the Taegeukgi, and the traditional Korean martial art is Taekwondo. Korea also has popular national holidays like Chuseok that we have learned about, and delicious dishes like kimchi and bulgogi.

Well what about traditional clothing? What is it called?

Korean traditional clothing is called Hanbok.
October 21 is Hanbok Day in Korea. In this October program, we are going to read a book about Hanbok, and learn the names for the different parts of Hanbok. We will also decorate a Hanbok together.

If you have your own Hanbok, you are welcome to wear it for class!

Storytime is a program for parents/caregivers and their children. The parent/caregiver is suggested to be present during the entire program.

<Korean Storytime> is an online education program by the Korean Cultural Center New York and New York Public Library, St. Agnes. The program offers diverse themed storytime programs every month in Korean and English.
