The Korean Cultural Center New York (KCCNY) is delighted to announce a special event entitled "DAGWA: A Journey of Korean Tea & K-Dessert," co-presented with NOAH and with special support from Exqz by Daytrip.

DAGWA is a traditional Korean concept of pairing tea with sweets—a harmonious moment of reflection, flavor, and calm. Rooted in centuries-old customs, it celebrates balance between body and spirit through nature’s simplest ingredients.

In this tasting experience, we invite you to discover DAGWA through five naturally infused teas, each brewed from a single, time-honored Korean ingredient: balloon flower root, burdock root, chrysanthemum, goji berry, and apple. Known for their soothing and restorative properties, these botanicals are steeped individually to reveal their unique character.

Alongside each tea, enjoy thoughtfully crafted K-Dessert bites inspired by the same ingredients—offering a gentle, modern expression of traditional Korean flavor pairings.

* K-Dessert refers to Korean traditional desserts that have been reinterpreted in a modern way or fused with Western-style desserts to create entirely new forms. More than just food, K-Desserts are creative treats that embody Korean culture and sensibilities, and they are gaining popularity both domestically and internationally.

During this workshop, you will:

  • Brew and taste each ingredient—such as balloon flower root, burdock root, chrysanthemum, goji berries, and apple—on its own, allowing the unique character of each to shine.

  • Enjoy a thoughtfully paired tasting of five small bites, created using the same ingredients, including a goji berry dessert or a pure burdock root tasting.

  • Experience a curated tasting journey exploring the nuanced flavors and healing properties of the Noah Blend—a contemporary herbal tea inspired by Korean wellness traditions—through three distinctive brews: hot, cold, and with oat milk, each revealing a new layer of depth and balance.

Join us and experience DAGWA: a delicate balance of taste, tradition, and well-being, one cup and one bite at a time.
