A violent thug named Yong-bae lives under a bridge by the Han River with a peddler and an aging homeless man. He recovers the bodies of suicide victims and forces money from their families to make a living. Hyung-jung, a beautiful woman, who is betrayed by her boyfriend jumps into the river to commit suicide, but Yong-bae saves her only to use her for sex. Finding nowhere to go, Hyung-jung decides to stay with Yong-bae, and they develop a mutual bond. Just as their relationship is about to kindle and develop into true love, Hyung-jung makes her second suicide attempt and forces Yong-bae to make a life-altering decision.
