A young woman named Jin-a arrives at a shabby guesthouse known as Birdcage Inn to replace a prostitute who has left the place. A couple with a daughter and son runs the lodge, located in a small village near the ocean. The daughter discriminates against Jin-a because of her social background and the mother only sees her as a source of capital. After the daughter discovers that not only her brother, but also her sexually frustrated boyfriend has apparently slept with Jin-a, the situation for Jin-a becomes even more unbearable.
