Performance
The Korean Cultural Service hosts, sponsors and
organizes a variety of performances, including classical
music and dance events and Korean traditional performing
arts events. We work directly with many organizations,
including Lincoln Center, the White Wave Dance Company
and the Korea Music Foundation (KMF). Most recently,
we sponsored a sold-out evening of Korean cultural
performances at Manhattan’s Town Hall; sponsored
a KMF performance at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center;
and assisted with the Korean cultural events of
Lincoln Center Festival 2003.
Film
The CineForum Program of the Korean Cultural Service
hosts monthly film screenings, runs a film-lending
program, and provides a private screening area
where individuals can watch Korean films in comfort.
Our past work with outside organizations includes
cosponsoring the New York Korean Film Festival
and organizing a Korean film series at the United
Nations. CineForum schedules are available from
our website.
Visual Arts
Gallery Korea, hosted and sponsored by the Korean
Cultural Service, shows contemporary art from
both Korean and non-Korean artists. Exhibitions
of traditional Korean art forms, such as lacquer
painting and calligraphy, are also held. Full
gallery schedules are available from our website.
